Anyone know the advanced code for that function on that remote?

I'm hoping I don't have to return the remote to the cable c. Just out of curiosity, where did you get it and how much did it cost? If your remote is the AT, then look on page 14 of the remote manual for instructions on how to set buttons back to their factory defaults. Not sure why you would want to reset the "FAV" button this way, anyway, since there are plenty of PIP controls at the bottom of the remote control. I find that "FAV" is very useful.

Use it all the time. Different from the one you mentioned, so the page number you mentioned doesn't help. I looked in my manual for a way to re-set to factory defaults, but there's nothing on that subject. I also called my cable co. They have no idea of the advanced codes for picking particular butttons to do particular functions. They suggested I return the remote and get a new one and start over.

However, just because they say that doesn't mean it's the only solution - I find them to be surprisingly unknowledgeable about tech issues. Any way, I've gotten that all set up perfectly in the TV mode now. Right after doing that that button stopped working in the CBL mode. That's strange though, because I set some other buttons to do things in the TV mode and that didn't overrride what they were supposed to do in the CBL mode. It's just something unique with that FAV button maybe.

I'm sure that if I could just get the 3-digit advanced code for that FAV button I could get it working again. That just needs to be re-programmed back in. I agree the FAV feature is great and that's why I'm working to get it back. Thanks to all. But now I've found the number. I decided to call the remote co. They gave me the code - it's I programmed it in and it works perfectly now. If so, interesting that there is more than one remote is made and distributed for the same DVR box.

It's the remote that the cable co. I'm pretty happy with it so far and like the fact that it's programmable, though the support techs seem to have little knowledge about that aspect. Does anyone else think this can be done even though they do not say specially about recording to a DVD?

Here is the FAQ section I found on their website. See diagram. Are you sure it can be copied to a DVD recorder? At SA's website, it says you can't. I have this particular device from Comcast, and have been able to record to my Computer DVD recorder very easily. A window will appear with several selections. You want "Copy to VCR". You will need to connect the 2nd audio and video connections to your DVD recorder, I use the "S-Video" and stereo audio.

You will be able to watch another program while that is recording without interfering. If you press "Watch" program by mistake, nothing will be output on the Second set of Outputs. Yes, I was able to do it directly to my standalone DVD recorder. Picture quality was not quite what I expected, but all in all a lot better than VHS.

I will experiment a liitle more. I have an update. It works fine. The only thing is you have to record in "real time". You can't just copy the program like copying a file. The other kind of "pain" thing is if you are putting more than one show on a disc you have to manually do it.

You can't have your DVR play all three shows in a row because the DVR prompts you with a question to save the show or erase it when it plays to the end of each show. If you are only going to put one hour long show per disc it is okay, but if you are going to put more than one on a disc, this can be a pain.

Ah, the problems we have in our tender lives!! The picture quality is pretty good. The quality can only be as good as what the DVR recorded and with most shows that is pretty slick and clear.

Depending on the setting you copy to your DVD recorder will determine what picture quality you have with the final product. I am pretty happy with the quality. When you record from the HD to a DVD can you use a digital interconnect or does it have to be analog? Thanks, Steve. Scarr25 , Mar 16, Last edited: Jan 28, Thanks, Comcast is my provider also.
