Pros: This is a great product for recording shows off of my satellite DVR. The Ulead editing softare is perfect for someone like me with average understanding. Pros: Hardware mpeg conversion allows you to run on a lower powered laptop. I'm using a Toshiba M45 running at 1. Compression seems especially good. You can get up to min of MPEG-2 at the highest quality on a 4. Audio sync is perfect.
This has been a problem with other USB devices with software compression. Cons: A bit expensive for conversion that tops out at 6Mbps. Software is terrible and is especially bad on WXGA in full screen mode. Not practical for use as a PVR unless you're in to distorted images. No remote control.
